I was just walking through an alley today and as I stepped through a doorway I saw this.
"Huh, that's really unique." I thought and got out my camera.
The red paper hanging on the side of the door is a blessing, or proverb, which is written on these sheets of dyed red paper and hung on each side of the door during Chinese New Year. It is supposed to be a blessing for the family who dwells inside of that home.
The last time I was in China I was given one of these as a gift. A girl in my English class made it for me and is still one of my most prized possessions.
